Do fillers last longer than botox?
There is a wide range of different dermal fillers that last for varying lengths of time. With that in mind, while not all fillers last longer than Botox injections, most of them do.
On average, Botox injections last three to four months but can last for as long as six months or as short as two months. What is the difference between dermal filler and botox?
The operative ingredient in Botox injections is botulinum toxin type A, which is a neuromodulator. As such, Botox injections help improve fine lines and wrinkles, particularly around the eyes, forehead, and eyebrows, by blocking the signals between nerve endings in the treatment area and neurotransmitters in the brain responsible for muscle contractions. Since repeated muscle contractions due to various facial expressions (i.e., smiling, squinting, or frowning) are one of the primary culprits of fine lines and wrinkles, the temporary reprieve from muscle contractions provided by Botox injections allows your skin time to relax and smoothen out fine lines and wrinkles in the treatment area.
