What causes your hair to fall out?
Hair loss can affect not only your scalp, but your entire body either temporarily or permanently. Hair loss is the result of heredity, hormonal changes, medical conditions or just a normal part of the aging process.
Hair loss can appear in several different ways, it can come on gradually, or quite suddenly. A few signs and symptoms of hair loss include:
- Gradual thinning of hair on the top of your head/body
- Circular or even patchy bald spots on your head/body
- Hair suddenly becomes more loose
- Full body hair loss
- Patches that spread over the scalp
Hair loss is typically related to one of the following factors:
- Family history (Heredity)
- Hormonal changes and medical conditions
- Medications and supplements
- Radiation therapy
- Stressful event(s)
- Hairstyles and treatments
Can hair grow back after thinning?
Hair loss is a natural process everyone will go through. We all naturally lose on average of about 80 strands of hair each day, but our hair continually grows in cycles to replenish itself.
If you are noticing hair thinning, some of the most common signs of hair loss include receding hairline, more hair appearing in the sink or shower, and sudden changes in how your hair reacts when brushed.
To answer whether or not will your hair grow back after thinning, it will depend on a multitude of factors including family history, where are you noticing the hair loss, is the hair loss due to aging, could it be stress related. One or more of the above factors can attribute to your hair loss, and if it is not a heredity thing, or aging, a good portion of the time it will grow back. However, it is not guaranteed it will grow back like before, or at all naturally.
What kind of hair loss treatment do you offer?
New Look MedSpa uses top-quality PRP treatment (Platelet-rich plasma) for our patient’s hair restoration needs. Our Platelet-rich plasma promotes healthy hair restoration growth through tiny blood cells that targets what is called the Dermal Papilla, which is known as the indentation at the base of the hair follicle. By doing this, these platelets stimulate inactive hair follicles which will generate healthy hair growth on your scalp, as well as promoting healing qualities and new cell production.
Our PRP process for hair restoration is done in a three-step non-invasive process. After check-in your blood will be drawn by one of our nurses, and it will be put into a centrifuge which will separate the platelets from the rest of the blood. Once complete, we will check and see the blood will be separated into three layers, platelet-poor plasma, platelet-rich plasma and red blood cells. Finally, we will then take the platelet-rich plasma into a syringe and inject this into the areas of your scalp that require the hair restoration. You will be given anesthetic beforehand to make you more relaxed and comfortable during your PRP treatment with us.
